Derek Mercey and Kristen Forster, Co-founders and Principals at Bloomr Commercial Real Estate. Established in 2017, Derek and Kristen merged their respective years of experience in real estate and senior living to form bloomr, a commercial real estate business dedicated to the senior living sector in the Province of Ontario.

Derek Mercey

Derek Mercey, Sales Representative, Royal LePage Commercial, is Co-founder and Principal of Bloomr Commercial Real Estate. Leveraging 20+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the senior living sector, Derek focuses exclusively on meeting the unique real estate needs of senior living property owners, operators, developers, lenders, and investors.

Fuelled by a passion for the senior living industry and a desire to provide exceptional services to aging Canadians, Derek started his career as a Co-founder of Care Planning Partners (CPP), which quickly emerged as the go-to source for market and financial feasibility assessments and intelligence in the sector.

Derek launched TheCareGuide.com in 1996 leading to The Care Guide in 2002, helping countless seniors and their families make informed decisions about their eldercare needs and appropriate senior living arrangements. Derek served the Ontario Retirement Communities Association’s (ORCA) Board of Directors for six consecutive years and Chair of its Commercial Members’ Committee.

Derek holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is a dynamic entrepreneur dedicated to providing the highest level of service and expertise to his clients.

Kristen Forster

Kristen Forster, Sales Representative, Royal LePage Commercial, is Co-founder and Principal of Bloomr Commercial Real Estate. Kristen is a seasoned business development and sales professional with over 25 years of experience in commercial construction and real estate development, specializing in healthcare-related real estate and the senior living sector.

Kristen has built a stand-out reputation for adhering to the highest ethical standards as a skilled negotiator while consistently delivering outstanding results for her clients. Her sound business acumen, combined with exceptional market and real estate development expertise, enables her to align clients’ real estate objectives.

Kristen’s successful track record in commercial real estate development and construction is a testament to her commitment to excellence. Her extensive network of consultants, developers, and related professionals allows her to provide clients with the highest level of support, assistance, and value.

Kristen is honoured to be awarded Top 50 National Royal LePage Commercial 2022, Top 10 Commercial Royal LePage Real Estate 2021, and 2022. She is the Co-founder at Good Life Realty and holds an Honours Degree Psychology and Business from Wilfrid Laurier.
