Derek Mercey HBBA, SRES
Derek earned his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree at one of Canada’s top business schools, Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in 1994.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and the business opportunities that Canada’s aging population would afford, he founded Care Planning Partners (CPP), which soon became the preeminent source of market and financial feasibility assessments, and other forms of market intelligence, within the growing senior living sector. He also founded The Care Guide (TCG) and TheCareGuide.com, which have helped thousands of Canadian seniors and their families make more informed senior living decisions.
During this time, Derek served as an elected member of the Ontario Retirement Communities Association’s (ORCA) Board of Directors for six consecutive years and Chair of its Commercial Members' Committee.
He then joined ORCA to help launch their innovative, one-of-a-kind data service called CORE, intended to provide senior living sector operators, investors and allied businesses with valuable operational, market and financial intelligence.
Derek has since become a licensed real estate sales professional with Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd., Brokerage and Royal LePage Commercial. Leveraging his 20+ years of in-depth knowledge and diverse expertise in the senior living sector, he has now co-founded Bloomr Commercial Real Estate to focus exclusively on the unique real estate needs of senior living property owners, operators, developers, lenders and investors.

Kristen brings to Bloomr Commercial Real Estate nearly 20 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing in the commercial construction and real estate development industries, including projects in healthcare-related real estate and the senior living sector.
Throughout her career, Kristen has developed a solid reputation of integrity and service excellence by adhering to the highest of ethical standards, and through her commitment to always working tirelessly on behalf of her clients. Her sound business acumen, combined with her exceptional market knowledge and real estate development expertise, uniquely allows Kristen to align her clients’ real estate objectives with their corporate goals.
